Symbolic Meaning

September 6, 2010 I found a small 18 carat gold ring as I had completed pumping gas into my automobile. I was curious as to the significance of this finding. The following is a small sampling of the possible meaning of all the symbolic references in this experience.

Gold is symbolic of the sun, representing spirit and life. In Hindu gold is called “mineral light”. Gold is often associated with the golden light of inner peace. Gold is also associated with power, authority and riches, especially spiritual riches, those earthly aspects of life that reflect the light of spirit. Gold is also symbol of immutability and eternity. One of the more valued elements, gold represents perfection in all matter, on any level. It also symbolizes humankind’s quest to perfect, illuminate and refine his/herself.

Keywords for Meaning of Gold: God, wealth, winning, safety, masculine power, happiness, playful humor, prestige, wisdom, love of spirit, meaning, purpose, awe, spiritual love, quests of the heart, desire for power, mystic powers, higher mathematics, sciences, concentration, vitality. life, health, radiance, wisdom, clarity, unification, virtue, light, happiness, success, attainment, prosperity, self-purification, and transition of the soul.

Wearing gold in everyday life increases personal power, and promotes courage, confidence and willpower.

A ring is a powerful sign of the continuous circle of life and represent a promise or bond we have with our destiny. The circle Is an ancient and universal symbol of unity, wholeness, infinity, the goddess, and female power.

An automobile most often represents the physical body, self, ego, personality, persona, ones life and It's direction. Gas station and petrol have a link with refueling and energies.

Eighteen : The word for "life" in Hebrew is "chai." The two Hebrew letters that make up the word "chai" are chet and yud. In Gematria (the numerical value of Hebrew letters), chai is equivalent to 8 and yud is equivalent to 10. So "chai", chet and yud together, equals 18. Giving money in multiples of $18 is symbolic of giving "chai" or life.

Eighteen is sacred to the Sufi mystics known in the West as the Whirling Dervishes and their custom was for a guest to bring gifts in multiples of 18. The Indian Mahabharata has 18 books, and the Jewish prayer shemone Ężesre (Hebrew: “eighteen”) originally consisted of 18 blessings.

The numerical meaning of number 18 reduced to 9. Nine represents attainment, satisfaction, accomplishment, our success and achievement. The spiritual meaning of number Nine deals with intellectual power, inventiveness, influence over situations and things. Nine beseeches us to recognize our own internal attributes, and extend these abilities out into the world to make a positive, influential difference.

WOW! A powerhouse of symbolism.
